Figure Drawing Basics
Loosen up your figure drawing and build strong foundations through clothed and costumed figure studies in a fun, energetic studio environment. Using quick sketch exercises, short poses, and clear demos, students will learn a structural-gesture approach to drawing the human figure with confidence.
Topics include rhythm lines, core forms, drapery, folds, and shadow mapping. Students will also work through longer lay-ins designed to strengthen observation, structure, and drawing organization. Every week features artist spotlights, course handouts, instructor demos, and lectures designed to help students see clearly, simplify complex forms, and create more dynamic drawings.

Based on the Frank Reilly method — simplified to demystify the process — this class helps you see clearly, simplify complex forms, and build confidence. Open to students ages 16 and older. All levels welcome.
